Are you a recent graduate looking for your first job in public service?
Is it time for you to start thinking about career advancement?
Has your supervisor given you additional job responsibilities or increased authority?
It is never too early to prepare for your future. This highly-interactive workshop for new public service professionals will help you identify personal strengths or qualities that will help you better understand yourself and thereby avoid self-deceiving and deceiving others. Mentors are one mechanism to help promising employees prepare for leadership and help you avoid self-deception.
Another trait necessary on the road to success is having a personal charter or value system in one’s life. This “moral code” is the basis for consistent ethical integrity. As you define the steps that will take you to the next level in your career, it is also important to understand the mindset of your managers who are likely to be “baby boomers” and how their attitudes and work ethic may be different from yours.
You know the time will come when you will advance to a new level in your career. Whether it is a change in accountability, authority, job perspective or management, you want to be ready to make a smooth transition.
This program will help you do just that! This full-day program includes lunch, breaks and all instructional materials. The cost is just $99 for ASPA members and $159 for non members (includes a one year membership in ASPA).
