Please join INSA for the fourth INSA Mentoring Event created to offer career guidance and to share experiences for newer members of the intelligence community. This event will allow you to network and to learn about the experiences of more senior IC members from both the public and private sectors.

Speaker Biographies

 

Letitia (Tish) Long, director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and a former member of SASA’s Board of Directors, is the first woman to head one of the sixteen agencies in the IC. She received her bachelor’s of science degree from Virginia Tech University and her master’s of science in mechanical engineering from the Catholic University of America. She began her federal civilian service with the Navy as a project engineer. Since then Ms. Long has also served as Deputy Director for the Defense Intelligence Agency, as the Deputy Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence (Policy, Requirements and Resources), and Director of the CIA’s Executive Director for Intelligence Community Affairs, responsible for community-wide policy formulation, resource planning and program assessment and evaluation

Steve Cambone, President and COO of Mission Solutions Group of QinetiQ North America and currently a member of INSA’s Board of Directors and INSA’s Cyber Security Council, received his Ph.D. and Master’s degrees in political science from Claremont Graduate School and his Bachelor’s degree in political science from Catholic University. He was a Senior Fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies and Director of Research at the Institute for National Security Studies at the National Defense University during which he remained actively engaged in major issues of public policy. Prior to joining QNA in 2007, he served from 2001-2006 in the Department of Defense. During that time he was twice nominated by President Bush and confirmed by the US Senate for senior positions in DOD, including as the first Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence. In recognition of his accomplishments while serving in DOD, Dr. Cambone was awarded the Department of Defense Distinguished Public Service Medal by the Secretary of Defense, and the National Intelligence Distinguished Service Medal by the Director of National Intelligence.
